About Us
We started Bonkers About Babies as two new Mums.
Our first babies were born in December 05 and January 06. Our children are the centre of
our lives. Karen lives near Huntingdon and Cressida near Peterborough.
We met through our antenatal classes and have been meeting up regularly ever since.
During a conversation over lunch we both commented on how difficult and daunting it had
been to find out about local activities and services for our babies and how useful it
would have been to have had advance information about the local towns and their facilities
as well.
We quickly came to the conclusion that a local magazine containing this information could
help new mums in those first few months to get out and about and really enjoy their babies
and pregnant ladies to quickly become integrated into the ‘baby community’ in
their local area.
Using our recent experience, ideas flowed freely and we launched our first magazine in
the Peterborough and Huntingdon area in September 2006.
Since then things have gone from strength to strength and we have added to our team, had
more babies – Cressida has since had another little girl in October 2007 and Karen had
twins Oliver & Lily in April 08 – and we are launching magazines in other regions.
We also had our first baby show in 2007 which was a huge success and has led to subsequent
shows and launched our Bonkers Christmas Parties events and Bonkers Party Planning services.
We are confident our magazines and events services are of huge benefit to both local parents
and local baby orientated companies alike!
Neither of us had any experience of either publishing or events organization prior to
starting Bonkers so we have very much grown alongside the business.
We strive for our magazine and our business to have a relaxed and informal feel and love
being able to help our fellow Mums even in a small way.
Bonkers continues to grow, as do our little ones and we are very excited for the future
of our business and our families.
We hope you find our magazines truly useful and enjoy reading them as much as we enjoy
producing them.
